Porridge is one of my favourite cosy breakfasts and so I wanted to let you know the chocolate porridge I have been making lately. It’s so delicious and a great weekend one when you have a bit more time for some pretty toppings. Or you might just want a treat during the week! I hope you enjoy this recipe as it is so yummy, and I think it is a hug in a bowl!
Method
- Put the oats, milk, cacao powder and maple syrup in a saucepan.
- Heat over a medium heat, making sure you are stirring regularly. Porridge loves the attention and gradually cooking it works best in my opinion. When it gets cooking a bit more, you might want to turn the heat down, so it is gently cooking, until it comes together and becomes a porridge consistency.
- I find when it heats, the cacao powder blends better with the mix, but you might find sieving it better. It’s not necessary though and it all comes together in the end.
- When the porridge is cooked and thickened, serve into 2 bowls.
- Top with your favourite toppings. I love blueberries, coconut chips, cacao nibs and chocolate nut butter.
