I am a natural makeup kind of person for sure. That said, I do enjoy wearing it! Makeup makes me feel more put together and productive. While some people have probably been wearing less makeup, some people have been wearing more during lockdown. For me, it has been a mixture of both. I have enjoyed having more time to wear eye makeup (normally that step gets eliminated for quick days). I have also really enjoyed digging out some old favourites or new things I had not yet tried. Like most of you I am sure, I have not bought any new makeup since lockdown and I have really enjoyed appreciating what I already have. Let me run through some of my current makeup favourites in my collection.
Balance Me Instant Lift Primer
I have never been much of a primer kind of gal and I never really saw the point in this step. However, since using my Bare Minerals mineral foundation more, this has worked a treat at helping the foundation stick to my face! This was a little miniature primer and I think it came from a beauty advent calendar. I really love the formula and a little goes a long way!
Bare Minerals Foundation
I had heard so much hype about this mineral foundation and I really wanted to try it. I had started using it a while ago, but I recently dug it out of my collection to use again. What I love is the fact that you are putting gentle things on your face and that means that it is great for sensitive skin like mine. It also does not disrupt healing of blemishes as the skin can still breathe. This concealer just creates such a dewy base and looks really natural! It also does a good job at giving such a buildable coverage. So, I can wear less on great skin days and then if I have a blemish, I can pack it on! It can be a little messy to apply but I have developed a trick of putting it on a cloth when I tap the excess off, so that it doesn’t go everywhere!
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
This has been my favourite under eye concealer for years now. It is so hydrating, and I just love how it blends really nicely. I also use this on blemishes.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel
This brow gel is really great with a small wand. The colour is a little too dark for my inner brow, but I use this on the outer brow and then blend it with my Benefit Gimme Brow gel for the inner section. I like my brows to look natural and this creates a lovely wearable shade.
