Aragon House…
Aragon House is a lovely hotel, bar and restaurant based in Parsons Green, London. It recently went under renovations and it is a stunning grade II listed building with oodles of charm. We went on a spontaneous dinner out and this place was perfect to visit…
Aragon House is a lovely place to relax and take it easy as the staff are so attentive and have the right balance of being helpful without pushy. The interior design is so beautiful with bench seating and comfy armchairs in the main restaurant. I do prefer to sit on a bench with more space and somewhere to put your bag. Anyone else? I just love it when places have seating like this as it is cosier and less formal. There is also a private events room, a workspace for daytime visitors and a champagne and cocktail bar. We went for a late dinner and it was perfect as it was not too busy, but it had a vibrant atmosphere.
On the menu….
The menu was so lovely, with plenty of varied options for people. My boyfriend had the grilled plaice with new potatoes and a brown shrimp butter. I had an aubergine dish featuring pomegranate, toasted nuts and seeds and a yummy tahini dressing. We also shared some chips, and these were unusually my favourite part of the meal! I guess London has been quite hot recently so salty food is just right this time of year! They were also the best chips I’ve tasted; I’d go as far to say!
For dessert, they had run out of the vegan chocolate fondant, but we weren’t disappointed as we shared a summer pudding. I don’t normally like summer pudding but this one was delicious and not too heavy. It sat on an elderflower jelly which was so fun to eat. It even wobbled on the plate! I’m now craving jelly and ice cream days!
A Perfect Hangout…
Overall, if you are in the area, I would definitely recommend going to Aragon House. Whether if it is breakfast, a coffee meeting, drinks with friends, or dinner, it really is a cosy and chic place which is not too expensive compared to lots of other similar standard places. The food is so good there and it is really a special place. Have you been to Aragon House before?
