The trench coat never goes out of fashion. This timeless piece can be worn all year round, from an Autumnal day with a cosy knit to a spring evening on top of the classic black dress. I’ve been on the lookout for a classic colour trench coat but didn’t want to spend too much on one. When I saw that Niomi Smart had collaborated with Oasis for a fashion edit and saw this trench coat was one of the items, I couldn’t resist it. For something that will hopefully last me for years to come, I thought the price point of this was great. I know I will get so much wear out of it and in the classic dusky camel colour, it looks expensive and sophisticated.
I paired the coat with some faux leather trousers, also from the Niomi Smart X Oasis edit. These trousers are so chic to wear and are perfect for the Autumn / Winter season. They elevate an outfit from a plain T Shirt to a cosy jumper. I had the perfect blue light weight jumper and brogue style shoes from my existing wardrobe. Pairing old pieces in your wardrobe with the new can be a great way to make clothes you have had for years come to life a bit more. We all need to be limiting “Fast Fashion” and making the most of what you have alongside pieces that will last for years is what we need to be doing. If you haven’t watched the Stacy Dooley programme on fast fashion called Fashion’s Dirty Secrets then please do. It is so eye opening and something we all need to be aware of to save our planet.
