September feels like a fresh start for me. Being a violin teacher, this is the time I look back on the previous year and make goals and future plans. I’m also getting ready for the winter months and thinking about cosy Autumn / Winter content on my blog. A lot of my favourites have been geared toward that transitional feel and I hope you like the things I’ve mentioned below. Do let me know what you think in the comments and also mention your current favourites, so we can all discover even more below!
FOOD…
My sister gave me these amazing tea bags for my birthday. The packaging is shaped in a pyramid with a little leaf peeping out the top. The silk pyramid tea bags featured so many interesting flavours. For someone looking to drink less caffeinated tea, this is perfect! The flavour is really strong from each bag and I’m sure you can even make a few cups from each!
We recently went to a “Free From” festival and picked up these mini gins. All the flavours such as “Salted Caramel” sounded divine and I couldn’t recommend them more. The gin tastes so clean and silky on the palette. A lovely after dinner treat at a weekend instead of a glass of wine.
I’m always interested in finding more savoury snacks to eat as my dentist always tells me to each less fruit! These lentil and chickpea crisps are amazing. These are definitely going to become a regular savoury snack for me.
Another savoury snack that I’ve got into are these chickpea puffs by Hippeas. They taste like wotsits! They are much healthier than crisps and are perfect for the afternoon slump.
As it’s Autumn now, I’ve been getting into having soup for lunch more. I found this amazing plant-based soup brand called Soupologie that I think you will love too! The flavours are amazing and include loads of great ingredients like turmeric and plenty of your five a day. Their soups are also much lower in sugar than some brands as they only contain natural sugars.
BEAUTY…
Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray
Specifically designed to help colour treated hair, this little spray has really helped make my hair silkier. My hair was so soft after using this and it is really one of the best products I’ve used on my hair in quite a while! Definitely recommend this if you struggle with frizzy hair like me. You spray it on your hair before drying it or applying heat like straighteners. The heat helps to activate the product.
The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Butter
This body lotion is incredible. I got this as a birthday gift from one of my friends and the consistency is so light. It also smells amazing!
Oliver Bonas Freesia & Pear Hand Cream
I get through a lot of hand creams because I do a lot of cooking. I also find London (and seasonal changes in weather) very drying on my skin. This hand cream is so luxurious, and you don’t need too much as a little goes a long way. The scent is so feminine too.
I got this lip balm as part of a free gift item and it is so good! The smell of this is incredible and my lips feel instantly pampered after using this. Anyone else suffering from dry lips at the current seasonal change time of year in the UK?
I think I received this in a beauty advent calendar last year and thought it was about time I used it. I don’t normally apply primer but this one is lovely. It’s slightly tinted and so adds a blurring base to the makeup. It’s also silicone free which is a big plus!
LIFESTYLE…
Mini Cacti
We recently took a little trip to Petersham Nurseries in Richmond and picked up 3 mini cacti to add some homely touches. I love the thought of getting more mini plants and making our home warmer and more welcoming. Plus, cacti are easier to look after!
Verbena is becoming one of my favourite scents. I just love citrus notes to perfumes and this candle is perfect for that fresh but energising and motivating aroma. L’Occitane candles are so lovely and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a vibrant but not too sickly candle for freshening up your home.
