For my 30th birthday I was surprised beyond belief and taken to a Chewton Glen treehouse by my boyfriend… A Birthday I’ll Never Forget! You may have heard about Chewton Glen across social media. Zoella visits there regularly and never in a million years did I think I’d ever get the chance to go to such an incredible place…let alone stay in a treehouse! I thought I would share with you some snaps from our stay and have this blog to look back on to remind me of some fantastic memories and what a way to celebrate getting older!
This trip was a complete surprise and when we drove up and approached the grounds I was stunned. The staff treated you like royalty and were so welcoming. They helped you with your bags and made sure you were looked after upon arrival. When we entered the treehouse, I was overwhelmed by the amazing scent….the diffusers smelt like citrus heaven! There were also lots of welcoming treats waiting for us inside!
I LOVE little touches such as a birthday balloon, fruit bowl and apples from their orchard decorating the living area. There were also plenty of snacks including freshly baked cakes and cookies, hot chocolate drops, marshmallows and a coffee machine. Their loose tea was also divine and a great way to start the visit by drinking a cuppa looking out onto woodland.
The view was absolutely incredible. I have never stayed somewhere so peaceful and private. Looking out onto trees and hearing the birds tweeting was just incredible after living in London. I grew up in the countryside so things like this just take me back to peace and tranquillity. I could have looked at that view for days sitting in the luxurious hot tub…..
Back inside the treehouse I felt so pampered. It was just so incredibly overwhelming. The spacious yet cosy set up felt so perfect. The living area even featured a log burner for the winter months and ipad to order room service. We did order a dreamy pizza and cheese board meal for one (to share) on the second night and it was divine.
Tucked up a flight of stairs (that actually multi-tasked as a bookcase) was a second bedroom with single beds and a games station which would be perfect for kids if you were going for a family stay. There was also another bathroom, which is life goals for me! The actual bedroom and bathroom were fantastic! The bed was super comfy and you could even watch TV in bed if you wished. Failing that, you could watch TV in the deepest bath I have ever seen as there was a screen at the end of that too! The bathroom was the best bit for me! Whenever I stay in hotels I’m always the first to look at the bathroom photos before the actual room as that is what I prefer to get right. This bathroom was just insanely perfect. There was a magazine and towel island, two sinks, a massive shower…. It even featured Ren shower products and L’Occitane hand soaps. If you are a beauty snob like me you will appreciate how amazing it is for a hotel to provide such luxury items as toiletries!
One of the best bits about our stay was all the delicious food. They delivered a daily breakfast hamper into the hatch. So by 7.30am in the morning something exciting was waiting for you without even having to answer the door in your pyjamas! Genius! Oh my what a breakfast hamper it was as well! It kept us going for several meals and we even took home what we couldn’t eat as we didn’t want to waste it! It was just incredible. There were different elements to the hamper each day but ours featured things like pastries, cereals, a bircher muesli, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses….. it was just wow!
On one of the days, we went exploring on the beach walk, which is a short walk out of the hotel grounds. This was one of the highlights for me as the sea just gives that calming charm to admire. It is lovely that you can be so close to walks like this from the hotel. However, you could be equally impressed with the grounds of the hotel, including an amazing kitchen garden to explore.
When we had to leave we felt sad to go but we both felt incredibly lucky that we stayed there. Hopefully one day we will be back again but I think we need to get saving first haha! I’d happily not go abroad for years just to be able to stay there a night though!
I hope you enjoyed this blog! I do realise how lucky I am to have got to have stayed here and I just want to mention how grateful I am to Owen for taking me on such an amazing trip away. The staff at Chewton Glen were also amazing!
