It’s that time of the month… trialling new beauty products! I love discovering new pieces and I was kindly given the opportunity to borrow some products to try from my boyfriend’s mum. A lot of the products I had already heard great things about. So, without further ado let’s find out what caught my eye to try in May.
Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy
I adore Crabtree & Evelyn as a brand. I’ve always experienced great customer service there. They even took pity on me when I was practising violin so much at university that my battered and dry hands needed a hand treatment – they gave me a little sample to try out at home that saved my hands. The restorative anti-oxidant-rich green seaweed extracts in this hand cream help to restore the hands and the hyaluronic acid in the cream also aids hydration. I have already tried this product and it is so nourishing and yet not greasy. A big thumbs up from me. I also love the fact that it contains shea butter as this is such a great moisturising ingredient.
Did you know that you can get more volume to your hair by exfoliating the scalp? If you think about it, by exfoliating the scalp we are allowing the hair to not fall flat and also aid the growth of it by eliminating dry skin, product build up and dandruff. This plant-based scalp detox sounds amazing as it gently cleans the scalp, encouraging hair growth. It says to use 1-2 times a week as a pre-wash treatment. Once massaging onto the scalp in circular motions, it says to leave for a few minutes and then rinse off before using your normal shampoo and conditioner. I’m intrigued to try this!
This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up
This product has won the 2013 Best Of British Elle Beauty Awards and has been rated highly by Victoria Beckham. It boasts to be a mask, primer and moisturiser all in one. It is also SPF 30, hydrating to the skin, and is high in anti-oxidant plant oils to rebuild and protect the skin. The perfect occasion for this product is one to give the complexion some brightening and instant pick me up so right before a photoshoot is the key contender. I imagine this will be amazing for blog beauty and fashion photos! I can’t wait to try this.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
I’ve heard SUCH great things about this product and it should be good at the price it is sold at! I’m so lucky to be able to try this as it is a cult beauty product. The pro-collagen formula helps to maintain elasticity in the face which we lose with the ageing process. Ageing is something I want to fight against as much as possible in my skincare routine so this product sounds incredible for that. The ingredient ‘Padina Pavonica’ claims to transform the complexion in just over 2 weeks so I’m excited to find out if that is true.
Bellápierre Cosmetics Banana Setting Powder
This colour correcting setting powder is perfect for baking or setting the make-up. I find that under eye concealer tends to crease or move so using a setting powder is a great option if you haven’t tried one before. If you get oily skin it is also great for mattifying the skin. I’ve never tried anything from Bellápierre Cosmetics before but the product is meant to have great reviews. Yellow colour correcting reduces redness so this sounds great if you have areas you want to perfect on your face.
High Definition Eyeshadow Palette
This eyeshadow palette claims to be long lasting and highly pigmented. All the shades look amazing as they are natural and wearable colours. There are a mix of matte and shimmery shades. I’m looking forward to comparing this against my other eyeshadow palettes. Let me know if you would like to know my thoughts on it?
