It is that time of year where we can snuggle up indoors and embrace the cosy vibes. For me, there are a few ingredients that make me feel more at home in the Autumn and Winter. These include….
Favourite Mug…
I love making cups of tea and deluxe hot chocolates in a special mug. It just doesn’t taste the same otherwise. Whilst I have a lot of favourite mugs in the cupboard I always prefer one which has a pretty pattern on it and one that will make me smile. Places like Cath Kidston, Oliver Bonas and Anthropologie have some great mugs to offer.
High-end Hand Cream…
When you are having a pamper, the best thing to do is to whip out your favourite luxury hand cream. I love Rituals hand creams as their scents are amazing but they are also extremely moisturising.
Cosy Socks…
Let’s not forget the cosy socks. I feel like my winter evenings are not the same without a pair of these on. It makes me feel so comforted and at home when I have a pair of fluffy socks on. Primark have some great affordable ones.
Hot water bottle…
Hot water bottles are just that little bit of comfort everyone needs on a crisp evening. I love watching a film with one on my lap. It is the cosiest feeling.
Hot chocolate…
Hot chocolate is just my favourite winter beverages. You can also make it refined sugar free by using natural sugars and cacao powder if you like. Although I do like the unhealthy kind too! Balance is key…. Sometimes a few little treats during winter are allowed!
Home touches…
I love feeling safe and warm in my home and to me comfy cushions and snuggly throws do just that. I always love Next and John Lewis homeware so I would recommend shopping there for soft furnishings.
Cosy Knits…
Knitwear is key in the winter. I love oversized jumpers and cardigans. I probably have too many jumpers but I get cold!
Candles…
Candles are a winter thing for me. I don’t really burn them in the summer. They make me feel more at ease and soothe the mind.
A good book…
With so much focus on social media these days taking a break via a book is something I love. I tend to go for easier reads as they help me to unwind.
