The Autumn leaves are falling and Winter is fast approaching. With lots of events happening this time of year and little money to spend, I thought I would write an Activities To Do On A Budget blog post. You may (or may not be) planning for the Festive Season… and that includes saving money over the coming weeks to enjoy it to the full. Surely this is the best time of year to make the most of the simple things in life and what we already have. I hope you find these ideas useful.
Activity Ideas….
Plan a movie night in with friends, yummy snacks and cosy blankets. Light a candle and put your fluffy socks on.
Invite the girls over and each bring a load of pamper products along. Yes, I’m talking about those miniatures that get forgotten about! This is the perfect opportunity for relaxation, gossip and painting those finger nails!
Have a themed dinner party such as a Mexican night. To save money, get each person to bring a different item along. Fajitas can be really cheap to make and the perfect party food.
Do some baking. Get those cookbooks out and spend time in the kitchen unwinding and making something really yummy.
Have a clear out. This may sound boring but it is actually really therapeutic (and very satisfying for neat freaks like myself).
Invite people round for dessert. Why not do chocolate fondue? Keeping it just dessert also takes the pressure off cooking a massive meal.
Have a board game themed evening. When was the last time you played a board game? I can’t remember the last time I played one but they are really fun. People must have a few lurking about their homes too.
Be creative and make something homemade like upcycling furniture or making some delicate jewellery.
Plan some exciting things to do over the winter months. Have things to look forward to. By making a Pinterest board or keeping a notebook full of ideas, you will have lots of ideas come Christmas and that takes the stress away come that time of year.
Go on a nice country walk. This is completely free! I just love getting out in the fresh air and crunching leaves underneath my shoes. Going for a walk and exploring is one of the nicest things you can do.
Have a catch-up marathon of your favourite TV shows. If you are like me you will be weeks behind already and an excuse to stay in means spending less!
Get engrossed in a gripping book. Reading can be so relaxing and take your mind off any worries in life.
Find some fitness YouTube videos and have a go at them at home. This could be anything from Zumba to Pilates.
At the weekend make an Instagrammable breakfast… at a fraction of the cost of one out. It can be so fun making something yummy and fresh yourself.
What do you like to do when you are on a budget?
