It was my birthday a few months ago and I was given a set of 3 Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturising Lip Colour Balms. I was so excited to open this present from my friend as I had wanted to try Clinique’s Chubby Sticks in quite a while.
Clinique is one of my favourite brands. It does quality, luxury and value for money all at the same time. I am not saying their products are cheap to buy but for the quality you get, they are definitely good value and a lot more affordable than some other luxurious brands! I love Clinique skincare and have been using their foundation for years so their makeup is also a big hit with me. The packaging is also girly but sophisticated with I love.
Let’s get on with these gorgeous lip balms… Now that we have had a bit of sun and a gorgeous summer, moisturising lip products are high on my agenda. I often forget to apply lipstick or can’t be bothered if I am just working from home, so I feel that moisturising lip balms are a perfect working day essential. They are also a little lighter on and really soak into the lips to create a nourished and spa like feeling!
Whilst I love the moisturising element of these lip stick balms, I also appreciate the tint in them to give you that “I’ve made a little bit more effort” look. When I first opened this present I thought “Oh….purple!” but when you apply it, the colour is not a bright Halloween replication but in fact a warmer tone than your current lips. I felt the shade on me turned slightly pinky plum, which was really lovely. I can see this working really well in autumn.
I love the redder toned lip balm too. It is lovely to create a little more colour than the light pink shade and again it blends in with your natural lip colour. These lip products are actually designed to bring out your lips’ natural colour tone and I love the fact that Clinique describes that “the colour is different for everyone”. Isn’t it lovely that we can still appreciate some uniqueness in our makeup?! I personally love this feature and it is lovely to think that my makeup is blending in with my requirements haha!
My absolute favourite of the three is the light pink Budding Blossom lip colour. I love subtle nude pink lipsticks and this is so beautiful with my fair skin. I love that English rose look and it is perfectly girly for me. The colour on all the lip balm sticks melts away gradually so you don’t have to worry about retouching all the time. When applied, the lips already appear more vibrant and healthy looking. I also love the twist mechanism on the packaging and this means you don’t have to worry about keeping the pencil sharp – it just reveals more lip balm!
Overall, a lovely set of lip balms and I will be using all of them. Super handy to keep in your handbag too for top ups! I’m also up for trying more colours as they are subtle but reasonably pigmented. I think I will be reaching for these a lot in the summer months along with a few of my other lipstick staples.
