June Favourites #2

The second half of my June Favourites is here and this time I’m talking about beauty. I mostly blog about food on here but I’d like to incorporate my other interests too and beauty is one of them! I’ve been enjoying lots of new finds and some old favourites throughout June and thought I would share them with you. If you missed part one, take a look at my food purchases I made in my previous blog.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette

I bought this eyeshadow palette last year and since then, this has become a daily staple to my makeup routine. I particularly love the left-hand side shades: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper and Tease. The right-hand side I use more for evening drinks or nights out with my friends. I love a natural makeup look and the quality and lasting finish is just fantastic. They are also really easy to blend.

Urban Decay Brow Beater in Taupe and Brow Tamer in Taupe

I’ve really been experimenting with brows in June and I received these two presents for my birthday and have been loving them ever since. I use the Brow Beater to brush my brows and to fill in the outer parts. I then brush the brow tamer though the whole brow to set them and also add a bit more colour to the inner brow. I find this really works for me and creates a natural looking brow without feeling underdressed. The colour was matched for me by someone at Urban Decay and I really recommend you do this as it is not something I would recommend to order blind online.

No.7 BB Cream for normal/dry skin (fair)

I have been trying to give my face a break from makeup on the odd day and I find this BB cream has worked really well for me so far. It is a bit lighter than foundation but gives you a bit more confidence whilst walking down the road to buy some milk. The texture of it is so creamy and moisturising too. My friend recommended this to me and I’m glad she did. It has also got SPF 15 in it too so great for the summer months.

MAC Lip Pencil in In Control

Lip pencils are really popular at the moment, especially all over the lip. I really fancied trying this look out so I went into MAC and the lovely people helped me test this out before I bought it. I chose In Control because I loved the colour but also the name. I think sometimes I need a bit of control in my life! It creates the perfect matte nude lip and the colour is almost a mauve/brown nude. I love it.

NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake

NYX lip glosses all so popular at the moment. I just had to try them out and treated myself to this butter gloss. It is so long lasting and doesn’t smudge as easily as a lipstick whilst eating and drinking. I love the creamy texture of it too and the colour is a neutral pink. It is so soft and doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky like some glosses do.

Clinique Blush in Smoldering Plum

The name of this blusher sounds quite autumnal but the colour is quite girly and pinky – perfect for spring and summer. I got this a while back as a free sample but had not used it until now. It is so pretty and blends so well. I love Clinique and they always seem to produce some amazing products. Their foundation is my Holy Grail as it just suits my skin so well. I will definitely be continuing to use this in the future!

SEVENTEEN Waterproof Mascara

This is an old favourite but I felt like I should mention it because it rarely gets mentioned in beauty posts I read. And yet I think it is severely underrated. First of all, it is such a reasonable price – under £5. Second of all it leaves little residue that creates that panda eye look. I love waterproof mascaras and I know they aren’t for everyone but this one is so lovely. I am lucky to have long eyelashes already but this one gives me an extra oomph without breaking the bank. The quality of the formula is also extremely good. SEVENTEEN are a great brand in my opinion and excellent value for money.

L’occitane en Provence Immortelle Milk Makeup Remover

With some birthday money I felt like splashing out on a treat for myself and purchased a few L’occitane en Provence products. Their things are pricey but you really do get quality in abundance from them. This milk makeup remover is so divine. My skin just feels so nourished and soft after using it. It also acts as a cleanser so you don’t need to do that step of your skincare routine after! I’m not sure I would regularly purchase it at £20 a bottle but for the one off treat I am so impressed. I guess you just buy what you can afford. You only get one face and if there is anything worth investing more in, skincare comes top in my opinion!

I hope you enjoyed my beauty favourites! Let me know in the comments what you think of my choices and if you have been loving them too!
