Another day, another afternoon tea. But this is not just any afternoon tea review! The other week I went to Hotel Chocolat’s restaurant Rabot 1745 for a chocolate afternoon tea. It was so yummy and the photos just speak for themselves!
I had booked this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and it was not a chore to accompany him so I did so quite happily! I was slightly worried that it would be quite sickly with all the chocolate – chocolate drinks, chocolate savoury bites and chocolate sweet creations. I was however impressed with the balance – they got it just right, with only a hint of chocolate in the savoury sandwiches and clever uses of cocoa nibs and flavourings that weren’t too sweet.
We had:
- Hot chocolate (they do all sorts of flavours including hazelnut and chilli). I have to say I have been to their café a few times for these….
- Sandwiches of beef with white chocolate horseradish, cacao gin cured salmon and avocado, chicken club with chocolate aioli, cucumber with dill cream cheese and cocoa nib
- Banana bread
- Chocolate and orange scone with cocoa nib butter
- Mini carrot cakes
- Chocolates
- Sorbet
- Prosecco
All in all, it was a great day and such a nice place. I really want to go there for dinner so I can try their evening dishes. If you want to check it out, here is a link. They are based in borough market and it is my favourite place to go there!
